The Airbnb Starter Checklist
The rules I use to furnish my own rentals. Use them before you buy a single thing.
1. The quantity rule

| Bed linens | 3 sets per bed — on the bed, in the wash, spare |
| Bath towels & washcloths | 2–3 per guest |

2. Five rules for rental-proof furnishing
- Design for the photo first. Your first five listing photos decide whether guests click — start with the living room.
- Buy performance fabric & washable covers. They wipe clean and hide wear.
- White bedding & towels only. Bleachable, hotel-fresh, and easy to replace one piece at a time.
- Waterproof protector on every mattress. It protects your biggest investment.
- Small extras win reviews. A coffee bar, breakfast basics and a forgotten-essentials basket cost little and get mentioned again and again.
